Why Parenting Classes ?
One common objection to contact between parent and child is that a parent does not have parenting skills. The best way of getting these skills is to act as a parent -- learn on the job. However this can be a vicious circle, so break out of this by acquiring the skills to look after a child though attending Parenting Classes.
It would be helpful if people could review/discuss the courses given below.

Your local council may have a Children/Family Developement Officer. They will either run courses or can find a suitable for you. Eg Wokingham Borough Council.
