Independent Complaints Advisory Service (ICAS)

In some cases a GP will fail to regcognise the Parental Responsibility of one parent in a broken relationship. That parent might then decide to make a formal complaint against the GP in an attempt to get his or her PR recognised for the benefit of the child.

If you have to make such a complaint then you can obtain independent, free and confidential advice from an advocate of ICAS. Their home page as at 18/10/2011 is [1].

The ICAS advocate can help you to write the letter of complaint, and also attend any meetings that you might have with the GP and/or Primary Care Trust.
